About the event
The White House Band
Led by trumpeter Dave Detwiler, this outstanding group has performed up and down the East Coast since the 1980’s. Local jazz artists Matt Niess, Bruce Swaim, Marty Nau, Mark Cook, and Gary Carper join Dave and this fabulous New Orleans-style jazz group for an evening of great music and stories about their days performing in The White House and throughout the DC area. As principal trumpet (Ret) with The NSO “Pops” and lead trumpet with The Army Blues, Dave, and his band mates, are also household names as local teachers and educators.
